“Ministry of Compassion (Mark 1: 29-39)” by Fr. Michael Sparough, S.J.

Fr. Michael shares the Gospel of Mark. In this Scripture, Jesus entered the house of Peter to find his mother-in-law very sick. Jesus grasped the dying woman’s hand and helped her up. She immediately began to wait on Jesus and His disciples.

Following this, many people came to the house in need of healing. After performing many miracles and driving out numerous demons, Jesus retreated to a deserted place to pray. Finally finding Jesus, Peter exclaimed that everyone was looking for Him, but Jesus did not return to Peter’s home.  Rather, He said that it was time to go to other villages and preach there.
