“Ascension – Pentecost (Mark 16: 15-20)” by Fr. Michael Sparough, S.J.

This homily by Fr. Michael Sparough is from the Gospel of Mark. Interestingly, the first line in this Gospel is the Heart to Heart Mission Statement: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature!”

This Scripture contains some of the last words that Jesus said to His disciples. Fr. Michael explains that just as Jesus had to suffer the Crucifixion for the Resurrection to come forth; it is also true that the Ascension of Jesus had to happen to allow the Holy Spirit to come upon the disciples. There is a loss necessary to experience the gain.

Fr. Michael also shares his personal journey concerning the death of his mother and how it relates to this Gospel. Just click on the arrow to hear Fr. Michael’s inspiring words:

God Bless You All!
